Is FCB at risk of a transfer setback?

Head coach Thomas Tuchel wants a so-called “Holding Six” at FC Bayern. The Munich team wants to look again at the transfer market after the failed Palhinha deal. One candidate is apparently at risk of being rejected.

According to El Nacional, Real Sociedad’s Martín Zubimendi favors a move to the Premier League next summer.

FC Barcelona is also said to be interested in the 24-year-old. However, Zubimendi does not want to move to coach Xavi’s team, the Catalan online newspaper claims.

Instead, the Spanish international could probably move to Arsenal FC. The Premier League leaders are said to be willing to pay the rumored exit clause of 60 million euros. This would be bad news for FC Bayern, as Zubimendi is considered a candidate for the six-man position around Säbener Straße.

FC Bayern: Palhinha and Casemiro are probably also an issue

Coach Tuchel still wants a defensive midfielder. Joao Palhinha was already in Munich in the summer. However, the planned commitment fell through on deadline day. The Portuguese is still an issue at FC Bayern, although he extended his contract with FC Fulham until 2028 a few weeks ago. According to “Sport1” there should be a “gentlemen’s agreement” between Palhinha and the London club that should allow the player to move in the winter.

According to “El Nacional”, the Bundesliga club is also interested in Manchester United’s Casemiro. FC Bayern is reportedly hoping that the Red Devils will let the Brazilian go for under 50 million euros.

Munich’s sports director Christoph Freund recently revealed to “Sport Bild” about the transfer plans: “The quality is high in the positions of central defense, right-back or six, but it’s no secret that we are still looking for alternatives.”
