With six goals and a whopping eight assists in 18 competitive games, Xavi Simons has so far impressively proven that RB Leipzig has hit the jackpot with the loan of the young Dutchman from Paris Saint-Germain. However, it is completely unclear where the 20-year-old will lace up his shoes next year: FC Bayern should also have the youngster’s development on their radar.
With his outstanding performances during his current loan from PSG to RB Leipzig, Xavi Simons has piqued the interest of FC Bayern. This is reported by the renowned transfer expert Ekrem Konur.
There can hardly be any doubt that Xavi Simons arouses a certain desire from the German record champions. However, there is also no question that some extremely high hurdles would have to be overcome on the way to a possible transfer.
On the one hand, Simons is tied to Paris Saint-Germain until the end of June 2027, and on the other hand, the youngster’s ideas in the RB Leipzig jersey have already driven up his price enormously. Well below a sum close to the magic mark of 100 million euros, the Eiffel Tower is unlikely to be weak. It is at least doubtful that FC Bayern is prepared to make such an investment.
Staying at RB Leipzig instead of a chance for FC Bayern?
“Sport Bild” also recently brought a scenario into play that is likely to be welcomed, at least in Leipzig. The sports magazine claims to have learned that an extension of the loan to the Saxons for another season is “probable”. The first discussions are said to have already taken place and a kind of “preliminary agreement” has even been made.
However, PSG letting its jewel go completely should not be an option. Only time will tell whether this attitude will soften in the event of an offer worth millions from FC Bayern.
