FC Barcelona would like to free Robert Lewandowski from Bayern. In order for this project to actually succeed, the financially troubled Catalans are apparently planning a new offer.
As “sports1” reported, Barca want to make “a second, improved offer” to the people of Munich “promptly”. From club circles it can be heard that the new offer should exceed the limit of 40 million euros.
The first offer from the traditional Spanish club was said to be 32 million euros. In addition, Barca are said to have promised five million euros in bonus payments. However, FC Bayern was by no means weak. For weeks, the German record champions have been driving a tough course in Lewandowski’s alternating theater.
However, FC Barcelona still seems to be convinced that they can steer the 33-year-old striker to the Mediterranean metropolis before the end of the transfer window.
FC Barcelona waves cash injection
According to “Sport1”, Barcelona President Joan Laporta assumes that FC Bayern will be more open to selling Lewandowski after Sadio Mané’s imminent commitment. In addition, there are signs of a cash injection for the Spanish vice-champion.
At the extraordinary general meeting on Thursday, Laporta would like to ask the members to “allow the sale of 49 percent of the club’s Barca Licensing & Merchandising (BLM) and the transfer of up to 25 percent of the television rights to LaLiga,” it said. According to information from the newspapers “Sport” and “Mundo Deportivo”, Barca are looking forward to around 700 million euros.
Ultimately, however, FC Bayern decides how Lewandowski will continue. After all, the Pole on Säbener Straße still has a contract until 2023.
Lewandowski is currently in Mallorca. Upon his arrival at the airport, the goalscorer declined to comment on his sporting future to the Spanish journalists present.
