Is Albert Verlinde open to a part-time job at Boulevard?

Albert Verlinde was for years the man you wanted to hear comment on showbiz riots. His successors at RTL Boulevard are Aran Bade and Rob Goossens. Doesn’t he want to alternate with them?

It is striking how quietly Albert Verlinde, one of the most important people in the history of RTL 4, has disappeared from the screen. He spent the last days of his TV career on the desk of Shownieuws, but at the height of his fame he worked for RTL Boulevard. Wouldn’t he like a part-time job in the show section?

No longer in BLVD

It doesn’t look like that. Albert tells this week Coffee time that he is very happy with his TV exit. “I think it’s dellicious. I’ve been on TV for thirty years now, which is an incredibly long time. I’ve almost only done daytime television, so I’ve made so many programs that I love not having to anymore.”

Albert is happy with his TV absence. “I like it, I occasionally watch Boulevard, I occasionally watch Shownieuws, but I don’t really have to sit there myself, to be honest.”

‘Have my life back’

The TV pension is a pleasure, says Albert. “I think it’s dellicious. I can do beautiful things now. I can produce theater or work for charities that I am involved in. I have my life back a little bit.”

He concludes: “I have worked so hard all these years with a double job: on the one hand as a theater producer and on the other hand with a daily TV program. In hindsight I think: how did I do it? I’m getting to myself a bit now and I love that.”
