Many great names were at the start of Dwars door de Westhoek this afternoon in Boezinge. There are also two West Flemish riders to keep an eye on: Sandrine Tas from Ostend and Shari Bossuyt from Harelbeke.
Tas was at the Winter Games as a skater in February, but has also been noticed on the bike in recent weeks. Last weekend she won twice more in Brittany.
“I always believed I had it in me, but it came out faster than I expected,” says Tas. “Winning a race is always fun, of course. To do that at home makes it extra special. We are going to do our best.”
