The accident happened around 5.30 pm on Hoeikensstraat in Willebroek. The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation. What is certain is that the driver and her two children were very lucky. As a result of the collision, some iron beams, which were on the trailer, pierced the windshield of the car. Emergency services rushed to the spot.
Initial findings showed that only the mother and one of her children had suffered minor injuries. The other child was unharmed. All three were taken to hospital. The car was badly damaged in the accident and had to be towed. Hoeikensstraat was closed during the intervention of the emergency services and during the findings of the police and the towing.
