The German Yarden Romann (36) is one of over 200 innocent people who were kidnapped by the terrorist organization Hamas on October 7th. In order to draw attention to Yarden’s fate, actress Iris Berben takes over her sponsorship – on behalf of all Hamas hostages.
Iris Berben explains: “The atrocity that was committed on October 7th is heartbreaking and no words can do justice to this crime. Over 200 Hamas hostages are not a statistic, not an anonymous number. They are people like you and me who have been torn from their lives after waking up. One can only imagine what they have to endure. Your immediate release is non-negotiable. But until then they must not be forgotten. Over 200 people were deprived of their freedom and their health. They must be released immediately. And I would like to remember this at the request of the von Yarden family.”
Iris Berben and numerous other artists will perform at a solidarity concert for Israel in Hamburg’s Laeiszhalle on Tuesday (October 31st). With the concert under the patronage of Culture Senator Carsten Brosda (SPD), the organizers want to commemorate the victims of the terrorist attack on October 7th and set an example for freedom and humanity.
