Ireland plans to slaughter some 200,000 cows over the next three years to meet its climate targets. “Approximately 65,000 cows a year are due to be withdrawn from the market in 2023, 2024 and 2025,” the Irish Independent newspaper quotes an internal memo from the Irish Department of Agriculture.
