Iphone 14 and Iphone 14 Pro prices were announced

On Wednesday evening, Apple organized a spectacular launch event where this year’s new phone models, smart watches and noise-cancelling earbuds were presented. Four different models were introduced to the phone collection: Iphone 14, Iphone 14 Plus, Iphone 14 Pro and Iphone 14 Pro Max.

The prices of the phones have been talked about on social media. In the United States, the prices of the basic iPhone 14 model (128 GB) start at $799 and the iPhone 14 Pro (128 GB) at $999. In Finland, you can get the basic model for the cheapest price of 1039 euros and the Pro model for 1349 euros.

The most expensive model that went on sale is the iPhone 14 Pro Max with one terabyte of storage space, the price of which in Finland is a whopping 2149 euros. So this year, Apple crossed the 2,000-euro limit, while last year’s corresponding model cost 1,859 euros.

The iPhone 13 was put on sale in Finland last year with a starting price of 929 euros (128 GB) and the iPhone 13 Pro with a starting price of 1179 euros (128 GB). The increase in starting prices is therefore EUR 110 for the iPhone 14 and EUR 170 for the iPhone 14 Pro. All new Pro models now cost more than 1000 euros.

The global economic situation, rising production costs and component shortages have certainly had an impact on the prices of Apple’s new products. In addition, Apple is known to adjust its prices according to changes in exchange rates.

There has been a discussion on social media about the prices of the new iPhone 14 phones. For example, a non-fiction writer Petteri Järvinen updated the prices on his Twitter account.

Apple is by no means the only phone manufacturer whose flagship phones cost over a thousand euros. For example, Apple’s biggest competitor, Samsung’s latest flagship phone, the Galaxy S22 Ultra, was introduced to the market with a starting price of 1,299 euros, after the most expensive version was 1,699 euros. The starting price of the previous Galaxy S21 Ultra was the same as the new model when it was released in January 2021.

Samsung’s most expensive phone at the moment is the Galaxy Z Fold 4 with a folding screen, which starts at 1,880 euros (256 GB), but whose terabyte storage model already costs 2,250 euros.
