TOIt is possible, indeed must, to approach reading the very little ones, especially in fragile contexts. With this goal part # ioleggoperchéLAB Nidi, the project involving 250 nursery schools in # ioleggoperché, the initiative of the IEA (Italian Publishers Association), which aims to donate books to school libraries. The seventh edition, scheduled from 5th to 13th Novemberwill be even richer and, thanks also to the involvement of the Cariplo Foundation, will include the nursery schools.
# ioleggoperché 2022 will take place from 5 to 13 November and will be open to nurseries with # ioleggoperchéLAB Nidi.
The modalities will be the usual: the 250 selected nurseries – for this first experimentation, are structures of fragile areas in Lombardy and in the provinces of Novara and Verbano-Cusio-Ossola – will receive the books that will be donated in the 250 twinned libraries, anyone can participate with a nice gesture. In addition, all nursery schools will receive 10 identical books chosen and donated by AIE and Fondazione Cariplo. Not only that: on the page dedicated to # ioleggoperchéLAB Nidi on the #ioleggoperché platform 11 videos will be available free of charge for all Italian nurseries useful for parents and trainers created by the Bibliographic Observatory Born to read.
# ioleggoperché: books in nurseries matter
Providing very young children with reading tools is very important: “The book is a tool to reduce inequalities and to promote social inclusion”, underlines Ricardo Franco Levi, president of AIE. “We will try to verify the impact of the inclusion of books in nursery schools as a stimulus to educators and parents.”
Adds Giovanni Fosti, president of Cariplo Foundation: “In the face of divergences that always arise before, reading allows us to open a new look at oneself and others, enhancing the desire and potential of our children ». The results of the research, carried out thanks to the collaboration of the universities of Bologna and Calabria, will be presented at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair in 2023.
The 250 selected nests can already register through the platform ioleggoperché.it. Twinning is open. The important thing is to enter the library from 5 to 13 November and donate a book.
