IOC boss Thomas Bach skips Paralympics

The Olympic Games in Beijing come to an end on Sunday. The controversial tournament will also be a topic in the coming weeks when the Paralympics take place. Then IOC boss Thomas Bach will be missing.

The last gold medal at the Olympic Winter Games in Beijing went to the ice hockey men from Finland. The tournament, which has been more than controversial since it was awarded, was then ended. The focus of this discussion: IOC President Thomas Bach, who was criticized by athletes, politicians and fans.

But this criticism is not getting any quieter, because the 68-year-old decided not to take part in the Paralympics in March. This was announced by the IOC on Sunday. Bach already missed the Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro 2016.

In his place, Vice President Ser Miang Ng (Singapore) will represent the world association on site from March 4th to 13th.
