Telecom operator Elisa starts billing its customers for their e-mail bills. In the future, the price of an e-mail invoice will be 0.99 euros per copy. According to Elisa’s press release, in the future you can get a free invoice in the OmaElisa service.

Elisa’s service manager Jukka Lehton according to the company wants to guide its customers to better invoicing methods.

– E-mail invoices cause six times more invoice drownings, delays and forgetfulness compared to other invoicing methods.

According to the service director, customers have reacted both positively and negatively to the reform.

For example, Elisa’s customer service has not received more contacts than usual. E-mail invoices are not being completely abandoned either.

– Those customers who want to switch to free can do so with a couple of clicks from the OmaElisa service. Those who still want an e-mail invoice do not need to make any changes.

According to Lehto, all other invoicing methods will remain unchanged. He also sees the change as eliminating possible scams.

– In the same connection, we introduced more versatile invoice views to the OmaElisa service. There, the customer can be sure that the invoice comes from the right source, and there will be no potential fraud attempts.
