Iceball world champion Ivan Maksimov found out about the invitation letter on Friday from his wife while on a game trip with the junior team he coached. After returning from the trip, the ice ball legend stopped by his mother on the way home to tell her about it.

The visit ended dramatically when the man had to call an ambulance for his mother.

– When he heard about the invitation, he had a stroke. His condition is very serious. He is in intensive care, Maksimov told Match TV.
