Investigators in Poland, working with German authorities, have dismantled a group of suspected car thieves who are said to have stolen more than a hundred vehicles in Germany.
Nine suspects were arrested, a spokesman for the Polish border guard told the PAP news agency on Friday. “The members of this group specialized in the theft of luxury sedans and motorcycles in Germany.”
The vehicles were often stolen to order and sold in Poland. Polish investigators estimate their total value at more than 1.3 million euros. According to the information, the stolen cars also included three luxury limousines from the Chinese embassy in Berlin.
It was said that the suspects acted in an organized and planned manner. She would have cracked the electronic immobilizers using special devices and immediately brought the vehicles to Poland.
The public prosecutor’s office is now investigating charges of membership in a criminal organization, theft and burglary. According to the information, the suspects face up to ten years in prison if convicted.
