The protesters who stormed the Capitol on January 6, 2021 did so after “encouraging” Donald Trump. This was confirmed by the chairman of the US Congressional Committee of Inquiry, Democratic Representative Bennie Thompson, at the start of the inquiry’s first public hearing on Thursday.
