Nine months before the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris (July 26 to August 11), French investigators have again searched the offices of the organizing committee.
The raid on Wednesday also targeted several event management companies that were involved in the opening ceremony. The AFP news agency learned this from those involved in the investigation. The sources said the raids came as part of an investigation into alleged nepotism in the awarding of contracts related to the Olympics, which has been ongoing since June.
Searches in June
The organizing committee COJO assured the authorities of “full” cooperation. Financial investigators from OCLCIFF, the central office for combating corruption and financial and tax crimes, also examined the companies Double 2, Ubibene, Obo and Paname 24 on Wednesday, according to the source.
The headquarters of the organizing committee in Saint-Denis as well as the offices of the Solideo company were searched in June. The Solideo company is responsible for the construction of the Olympic sites.
