Investigation into the home of the suspicious Gino case still ongoing | 1Limburg

The police are also still investigating the apartment in Geleen on Monday, where the suspect of involvement in the death of 9-year-old Gino lived.

A public prosecutor also visited the house on Monday afternoon where the forensic investigators in white suits are investigating.

Apartment complex cordoned off
The area surrounding the apartment complex is fenced and cordoned off with black tarpaulin. Detectives in white suits walk to and from the house. A sniffer dog is also used in and around the house. A police spokeswoman could not comment on the investigation Monday afternoon.

Hardly seen
A neighbor of the suspect says he hardly knows him. “I’ve seen him maybe twice in the past year,” he said.

Gino
The boy was found dead on Saturday morning behind a burned-out house a stone’s throw from the apartment where the suspect lived. Gino was last seen on a soccer field in Kerkrade on Wednesday evening. He stayed in that city with an older sister, because his mother in Maastricht is ill and could not take care of the boy.

After he went missing, hundreds of people in Kerkrade and Landgraaf went looking for the boy.
