Investigation into Jürgen Conings’s death has been completed

Tuesday will be a year ago that Jürgen Conings, a far-right soldier from Dilsen-Stokkem, fled with weapons and ammunition he stole from the Leopoldsburg barracks. In farewell letters he threatened with an attack against ‘the regime and virologists’. Hundreds of officers and soldiers searched for the fugitive corporal for five weeks, until he was found dead on June 20 by the mayor of Maaseik, who smelled a corpse odor during a bicycle ride.
