Investigation into corruption of Gulf state, possibly Qatar: 16 house searches and 4 arrests

In a judicial investigation into alleged corruption, criminal organization and money laundering, the police carried out sixteen house searches in Brussels on Friday morning. Four persons were arrested. Knack and Le Soir learned this from good sources and it is confirmed by the federal prosecutor’s office. It has been conducting an investigation into possible corruption in the European Parliament since July. According to Knack and Le Soir, the Gulf state in question is Qatar, where the World Cup is currently taking place.
