Investigation against Verstappen and Pérez after Ferrari protest in Monaco | NOW

The race management will investigate Max Verstappen and Sergio Pérez after the Monaco Grand Prix. Ferrari has filed a protest against the way the two Red Bull drivers drove out of the pits during the race, which Perez eventually won and in which Verstappen finished third.

When exiting the pit lane after their second pit stop, Pérez and Verstappen would have both crossed the yellow line. That line is there to ensure that the drivers cannot move directly between the racing cars on the track, but go a little further on the circuit.

If both drivers receive a penalty of, for example, five seconds, that will cost Pérez the victory and Verstappen his third place. Carlos Sainz is then the winner, which would mean the first victory for the Ferrari driver.

After it became known that Ferrari had lodged a protest, the race management received a message that a representative from Red Bull had to come forward. That was for a violation of both of the team’s cars.
