At the end of July last year, the lifeless body of Eric Vanacker (74) was found in a rural house in Sprietstraat in Moorslede. The victim is the landlord of Charles J., in his fifties, who later confesses that he killed Eric after an argument.
After the murder, the man also started a fire in a garage behind a house in Spiere-Helkijn. His ex-girlfriend’s son lived in the garage. The man had been notified for the arson and could be arrested in Blankenberge with the help of smart cameras that recognize license plates. He then confessed that he killed his landlord in Moorslede.
