In about a hundred days, the time has come: the open-air art exhibition Into Nature. Fifteen artists from all over the world can show their creations in nature at Drouwen and Exloo for three months. The theme of the fourth edition is time and is called Time Horizons.
Yesterday, artistic director Hilde de Bruijn updated about fifty guests in the Hunebedcentrum in Borger about the artists, the art and the programme.
From the end of July, more than fifteen works of art will take place on the Drouwenerzand and in the LOFAR area between Exloo and Buinen. This time Into Nature has two cycling and walking routes. De Bruijn explains why these areas were chosen: “This environment took shape in the Ice Age and that can still be seen. It breathes time. That is why we link the Time Horizons theme to it.”
“In addition, the location offers more opportunities compared to a nature reserve such as Bargerveen,” she continues. “We have sought more cooperation with residents here, for example by placing works of art on their land, but also by processing the stories that the artists have told them.”
