Today the former president Mauricio Macri will present his new book “Why”, the second after “Primer tiempo”. The event will take place starting at 6:00 p.m. in the Rural Society, in a room of 1800 square meters, and will be attended by 1,500 guests, including politicians, businessmen, and cultural personalities. Although it is the presentation of a book, “Why” will allow him to disguise the start of his 2023 campaign as an editorial launch, which, it is not yet certain, could have him as a candidate. Something that is still not easy to know, especially if one takes into account that the PRO President Patricia Bullrich and the head of the Buenos Aires government Horacio Rodriguez Larreta are the figures of Together for Change who are more in the running for the electoral contest.
Regarding how the event will be in La Rural, until now it is known that there will be no catering, for reasons of “time” and “austerity”. It will last around 70 minutes and the former president will sign copies for 45 minutes. It is not a long time if you take into account the book and what the launch of a book like this implies, but tonight Macri will begin a journey that will take him through USA and then by Saudi Arabia.
The former Minister of Culture of Cambiemos Paul Avelluto , who was in charge of giving the final corrections to the book, will accompany Macri in the presentation. Videos will also be shown with testimonies and greetings from international figures that the former president met throughout his political career and his time in Boca.
The desire of the maximum referent of Together for Change is that his book establishes institutional, power and leadership bases; a kind of road map for its political space. “Mauricio repeats that we have to follow ideas, not people. This book is the ideas of him as one of the leaders of Together for Change”, explains one of the authors of it.
Some of the slogans proposed by Macri in his book aim to put an end to “obsolete legislation in labor, union, social security and fiscal matters”, a reduction in public spending, elimination of inefficient public companies.
“In December 2023, we Argentines will have elected a new government. After the resounding failure of populism, there are enormous possibilities that the next administration will fall on Together for Change. If this happens, our responsibility will be enormous, even more demanding than the one we had as of December 2015. Beyond the man or woman who leads the next government, there are very important aspects that will make the new experience very different from the first stage of change,” says the former president in one of the book passages.
“Why” has 215 pages and its cover price is $4,500 pesos, and its first edition was 1,500 copies.
