INTERVIEW. Russia expert Derk Sauer: “Even after the drama in Kherson, the ordinary Russian continues to support Putin”

Military bloggers talk about “how Russian hopes are being murdered” and say Vladimir Putin is losing the trust of his own people. Should the president be concerned? Is something brewing in Russia? Derk Sauer, the Dutch publisher of the Russian internet newspaper ‘The Moscow Times’ is resolute: “Putin is still very firmly in the saddle. Because of the propaganda of the authorities and media, ordinary Russians live in a different reality. I see only one thing that could damage confidence in Putin.”
