INTERVIEW. Brandon Wen (29), director of the Antwerp Fashion Academy for one year: “I romanticized teaching too much”

The most important fashion show of the year starts this weekend in the Waagnatie. And under the watchful eye of Brandon Wen (29), the American designer who took over the reins from Walter Van Beirendonck as director of the prestigious Antwerp Fashion Academy a year ago. And that year was tough, the flamboyant energy bomb agrees: “We live in a bubble at the Academy. Once the students step out of that, they realize that it can be a hard world sometimes.”
