Intersport retail association wants to continue growing in Germany

The Intersport trading association wants to continue growing in Germany in the coming years.

By 2030, the market volume should be around 6 billion euros – and thus a share of 30 percent. One wants to remain the market leader, said Intersport boss Alexander von Preen, who is responsible for Germany, on Tuesday. For the network, von Preen is initially aiming for annual growth of more than five percent until 2026.

This should succeed, among other things, with the modernization of existing shops and new openings as well as better networking between shops and online trade. The Intersport association includes around 1,700 shops throughout Germany. Around 460 of them operate under the Intersport name. In the 2021/22 financial year, the affiliated dealers turned over around 3.3 billion euros. Intersport does not comment on the result. (dpa)
