The sports retail association Intersport Deutschland eG is modernizing its retail areas and also opening new locations.
The newest store in Essen was opened on Thursday, Intersport announced on Monday. The store is located in the Limbecker Platz shopping center and offers a sales area of 850 square meters.
“We are delighted to finally be able to open the new store. We deliberately opted for this innovative and sustainable concept because more and more people are thinking about product origin and production. We attach particular importance to this and already offer a wide range of products for our customers,” said Andreas Stommen, who runs the new shop in Essen.
The range is divided into the three areas of running, training and outdoor and is supplemented by seasonal goods, swimming and team sports and racket items. A 3D measurement for the right shoe size as well as Click & Collect is also offered.
In addition to new stores, existing areas in Germany are to be modernized: “With our growth program and the strengthening of the retail and omnichannel area, we will step on the gas in 2022. Overall, we oversee hundreds of modernization and expansion measures in our dealer portfolio and expect investments in the millions,” said Intersport CEO Alexander von Preen.
