Intersport hoists the flag at L&T, Engelhorn and Reischmann

The retail association Intersport brings its logo with a new flagship concept to the first upscale local partner stores.

In the first step, Engelhorn Sports in Mannheim, L&T in Osnabrück and Sport Reischmann in Ravensburg and Kempten in Allgäu are among the newly selected flagship concepts, which will receive a specially designed Intersport logo by the end of the year. So far, partner dealers from the “top segment” of sports – as the association calls it – had little association with the Intersport brand in terms of branches and areas.

That should change with the campaign that is now beginning around the new flagship concept. The locations, which are branded as flagships, are intended to suggest a special ambience, appropriate range and service to customers, Intersport announced on Tuesday. The new Intersport logo is to be installed in the relevant stores by the end of the year.

“Together with top members from the Intersport association, we have developed our flagship concept and are now placing the Intersport brand with a strong voice in the absolute top segment,” says Frank Geisler, Chief Operating Officer of Intersport Deutschland eG.

The association has a clear catalog of criteria for the new flagship concept: The locations must, for example, have the appeal of a regional brand, an exclusive location in the city centre, a supra-regional catchment area and a sales area in sports of at least 2,500 square meters. A consistent sustainability concept is also part of this.

“We have made a name for ourselves regionally and nationally with individual offers such as personal shopping, our comprehensive winter sports service and popular sporting events,” said Thomas Reischmann, Managing Director of Sport Reischmann GmbH. “Together with our partners in the flagship network, we will set even stronger accents here.”
