Internet consultation subsidy sustainable employability for companies launched | News item

As of today, the internet consultation for the expansion of the subsidy for sustainable employability will start. The aim of this scheme is to enable as many people as possible to reach their retirement age or take early retirement while working in a healthy way. The intention is that this scheme will also be open to individual companies from September 2023 and that the threshold amount for a subsidy will be lowered. You can respond to the adjusted regulation until March 20.

The subsidy follows from the 2019 pension agreement. Sectors could already apply for a subsidy for activities that increase the sustainable employability of employees. For example, for a new approach to alleviate difficult working conditions, smarter scheduling for night work or financial advice. In addition, a temporary subsidy is available to enable employees with heavy work to retire earlier. The government has made nearly 1 billion euros available and is financing up to half of the costs. The rest is paid by the companies themselves.

The current scheme will now be expanded so that individual companies can also apply. The minimum subsidy amount to be applied for will be reduced to 75,000 euros. This also makes it easier for smaller sectors to apply for a subsidy. The amendment regulation required for this change has now been in internet consultation for four weeks: from 20 February 13:00 until 20 March. Subsequently, the input received will be processed and the scheme will be determined.
