During a sunny weekend, the international golf world descended on Hilversum. The Hilversumsche Golf Club organized the Dutch Ladies Open, the largest golf tournament for women in the Netherlands. “We are right on top of top golf,” says chairman Pieter Croockewit.
Hundreds of spectators went to the golf course in Het Gooi to see the top players up close. The Dutch Anne van Dam was the big crowd puller on the last day of the match. She was the only remaining player who played the cut to be able to take action on Sunday.
The Dutch Ladies Open was a great opportunity for the public to follow the players. “I loved seeing the ladies play such beautiful swings “, says a member of the Hilversumsche. “Beautiful, all young ladies. I hope to be able to copy the art a bit,” says another member of the golf club.
After three days of golf, the win went to Trichat Cheenglab. The Thai golfer achieved a score of 12 strokes under par. The Dutch Anne van Dam finished at number 42 at the tournament in Hilversum.
