International theater and dance festival NEXT starts in Kortrijk

Next opens with Phoenix, a dance performance with drones. The dancers are, as it were, attacked by flying drones. It seems innocent, but a moment later everything becomes clear. The dancers on stage in Kortrijk make a live connection via Skype with dancers in the Gaza Strip, who are not allowed to leave and are spied on daily by drones.

The performance in Kortrijk merges with what is happening in the Gaza Strip at the same time. The cross-border festival opens with a very special performance, more always comes up with surprises.

Over the next three weeks, NEXT will be showing forty contemporary theatre, dance and performance performances, spread over some fifteen cities in the Netherlands, but also across the border in northern France.
