Seoul (AP) – Led by double goalscorer Neymar, record world champions Brazil clearly won a friendly against South Korea. Almost six months before the start of the soccer World Cup in Qatar, the South Americans prevailed 5-1 (2-1) in Seoul.
Striker Richarlison (7th minute), superstar Neymar twice with penalties (42nd/57th), ex-Bayern professional Philippe Coutinho (80th) and Gabriel Jesus (90th + 3) scored the goals for coach Tite’s team. Striker Ui-Jo Hwang scored for the hosts around substitute Woo-Yeong Jeong to equalize (31′).
At the World Cup in Qatar later this year, Brazil will face Cameroon, Switzerland and Serbia in Group G. South Korea take on Ghana, Portugal and Uruguay in Group H.
