Georgia and Slovenia are German opponents in the intermediate round of the Basketball World Cup in Asia. With a clear 70:59 (42:23) win against Venezuela on Wednesday (08/30/2023), Georgia conquered the second victory in the preliminary round and thus managed to advance. Slovenia then defeated Cape Verde 92-77 (45-38) and secured victory in Group F.
It is therefore clear that Germany, as the winners of Group E, will play the second-placed Georgians in Okinawa on Friday (10:30 CEST). On Sunday (1:30 p.m. CEST) we will face ex-European champion Slovenia with superstar Luka Doncic at the same place.
Slovenia and Germany start with the same number of points
Like Germany, the Slovenians made it into the intermediate round with three wins. Both teams take six points from the preliminary round into the intermediate round and start with the same number of points.
Slovenia and Georgia play alongside the DBB team against German group opponents Australia. Only the top two teams make it to the quarterfinals and the finals in Manila.
