The poker around Omar Marmoush from VfL Wolfsburg is getting worse and worse. With Gladbach, Eintracht Frankfurt and Bayer 04 Leverkusen, three Bundesliga clubs are said to be hot for the 24-year-old, who was recently associated with BVB.
The “Wolfsburger Allgemeine Zeitung” recently reported that Omar Marmoush is expected to move from VfL Wolfsburg to Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer. The negotiations between the 24-year-old Egyptian and the SGE are therefore “in the final stage”. According to “Bild” he has already completed the medical check in the Main metropolis.
The “kicker” now contradicts these reports. The sports magazine reports that the offensive player has not yet made a final decision. Even an extension of the contract beyond June is conceivable in principle, but rather unlikely due to Marmoush’s short playing time in recent weeks.
BVB out of the running with Omar Marmoush?
If there is no agreement on the continuation of the cooperation, the former junior international will be able to leave VfL free of charge in the summer. There shouldn’t be a lack of interested clubs: in addition to Frankfurt, Borussia Mönchengladbach and Bayer Leverkusen also have the winger on the list.
BVB has also recently been linked to Marmoush several times. The club’s “Ruhr Nachrichten” had described him as an “interesting player” for the runners-up. The latest reports in the “kicker” no longer mention any interest from the runner-up.
Marmoush moved to Wolfsburg from his Egyptian homeland in 2017, but only made his breakthrough at VfL after a long start-up period and loans to FC St. Pauli and VfB Stuttgart.
Currently he is at least one of the extended permanent staff at the Lower Saxony. In 2022/2023 there are 25 competitive games with four goals and one assist in his statistics.
