Inter, unexpected Onana towards Manchester: missing documents, change the airport

The Cameroonian goalkeeper was supposed to fly from Linate this afternoon but the papers were missing to get the jet off the ground. Plan B from the Piedmontese airport

Andrè Onana’s move to Manchester United has been postponed… by a few hours. The Inter goalkeeper, now betrothed to the Red Devils, left the Nerazzurri’s retreat this morning, ready to fly to England and sign a new contract with Ten Hag’s team.

THE UNEXPECTED

While the agreement between the footballer and the English had already been reached some time ago, the clubs have defined the final details of the deal only in the last few hours: 50 million plus bonuses to Zhang’s club, which just a year ago had taken the Cameroonian at zero parameter. Having received the go-ahead from the companies, Onana had planned to fly to Manchester already in the afternoon: the departure of his private plane was set for 6 pm from Linate Prime. However, the lack of some documents, essential to allow the jet to take off, forced Onana to change his plan.

FROM TURIN TO MANCHESTER

Once the bureaucratic issues had been settled, Onana’s entourage received further news: for reasons related to air traffic scheduling, the goalkeeper would no longer be able to leave Milan. The class of 1996 thus had to travel to Turin airport. From there he took off to say goodbye to Italy definitively. In the evening he will arrive in Manchester to begin his adventure in the Premier League.
