Inter-Sassuolo, Sanchez and Lautaro in the formation of Inzaghi

The lion is about to come out of the cage and will pair up with the bull. Against Sassuolo it will be up to Alexis Sanchez and Lautaro Martinez to lead Inter’s attack: the eternal relay between the two will stop, with Dzeko returning after having always played as a starter in 2022 with the exception of the matches against Lazio and Empoli (in Italian Cup). Unless there are surprises, therefore, it will be the fourth match of the season with the Lautaro-Sanchez duo from 1 ‘: three wins out of three so far, against Empoli (2-0), Cagliari (4-0) and Lazio (3- 1).

Inter are trying to shake off the defeat against Liverpool and to do so they must restart with a success in the league, which is important in order not to lose distance from Milan and keep alive the possibility of overtaking thanks to the match to be recovered, against Bologna. On Sunday against Sassuolo, however, there will be heavy absences for Inzaghi: Bastoni disqualified – he will have to serve the second day after Inter’s appeal rejected by the Court of Appeal – and Brozovic. Inzaghi seems to have already clear the alternatives: Dimarco in defense and in midfield Gagliardini, favorite over Vidal. This should be the only ballot in sight of Sassuolo, with Dumfries towards confirmation on the right.

Gosens in a group

The good news for Inzaghi concerns the recovery of Robin Gosens. The German has partially trained with the group and sees his return to the field: the closest goal is the match against Genoa next Friday, at worst the former Atalanta will be available for the first leg of the Coppa Italia. Many smiles for Gosens in today’s training with his teammates: soon Inzaghi will have another weapon on the flanks.
