A goal and two assists in his last three crossings as a starter against the Giallorossi, a club that he also faced on his debut in the Italian league
A goal in the derby, then another wait, to return to sting at the most important moment. Robin Gosens continues to charge the batteries, with the aim of being ready when Inter still need him. The German’s first goal in the Nerazzurri shirt, in the 3-0 in the Cup against Milan, may not be enough to convince Inzaghi to field him in the place of Perisic. While Ivan smiles, Roma – the next guest at San Siro – breathes a sigh of relief, being a very welcome target by the former Atalantino himself.
The debut in A
–
Starting from the day he joined Gasperini’s team, Gosens marked his growth by crossing with the Giallorossi. The first, on 20 August 2017, is the only one in which the winger was unable to exalt himself: it was the Roma of Di Francesco and of the Inter fans Dzeko and Kolarov, who decided the match with a goal from a free-kick. Atalanta lost 1-0 and in Robin, that day, it is as if something had sprung that leads him to go wild when he challenges Pellegrini & Co.
BLACK BEAST
–
In fact, during his experience in Bergamo, Gosens faced Roma on four other occasions, winning three wins and only one draw. He played the starter three times, proving to be decisive for the Nerazzurri’s successes with a goal and 2 assists. In 2020, Inter’s number 18 served Pasalic the ball for the final 2-1, repeating himself a year later with a perfect cross for Malinovskyi’s 1-0. In between is the 4-1 at Gewiss Stadium in December 2020, in which Robin made the momentary 2-1 of the Goddess.
COMPETITION
–
Having moved from the fight for qualification in the Champions League to the dream-scudetto after moving to Milan, Gosens struggles to carve out a leading role. “I come from a bad period – he explained after the derby -, now I would like to return to playing as a starter. With a competitor like Perisic it is not easy, because he is playing a wonderful championship. His performances are an incentive for me not to give up, trying to improve myself every day “. Against Roma, in Saturday’s match at 6pm, the left lane should once again be entrusted to the 33-year-old Croatian: Gosens accepts the challenge and warms up his engines in view of the second half. Inzaghi appreciates, eager to show off his new arrow.
