The Inter coach after the victory over Porto in the Champions League: “In the first half we should have speeded up the play, but we still had big chances. Lukaku? Glad you took away this satisfaction”
Half a foot is in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, in that place among the best eight in Europe which would mean elevating the team to a higher level. The 1-0 certainly does not leave us calm, but Inter will be able to face the away match in Portugal with an advantage. “We played an excellent game against a physical and technical opponent with a very good goalkeeper. In the first half – explained Simone Inzaghi after the match – we had a couple of big chances, then in the second half we suffered a bad restart on which they were good Skriniar and Onana, then the expulsion and the goal”.

The Inter coach then continues the analysis: “It’s not easy to play games like this, all the players have done well including the substitutes, from Brozovic to Gosens. In the first half we had to be quicker to turn the ball over, quickly in the games we had prepared. They attacked ferociously – Inzaghi explained -, we probably had to pick up the pace. But in my opinion we would have deserved the advantage already at the interval”. And then the words on Romelu Lukaku: “We know what he can give us, the injury took him away for four months. I’m glad he took away this satisfaction. Dzeko? No problem, Lukaku’s goal was the first to hug him”.
