Intel share: From 2025 onwards, new hiring in Magdeburg is to be expanded significantly

Intel wants to significantly expand new hiring for its planned chip factories in Magdeburg from 2025.

A total of 3,000 jobs will be created at the start of production, the “Münchner Merkur” quotes the responsible human resources manager at Intel, Bernd Holthaus. Around 70 percent of the positions, i.e. around 2,100 jobs, were in occupations with a primarily technical focus. Electrical system installers, but also automotive mechatronics engineers and air conditioning technicians are particularly in demand. According to the human resources manager, Intel is also looking for around 900 employees with degrees. The range of relevant degrees ranges from electrical engineering and industrial engineering to physics and chemistry.

The US group is currently planning two chip factories in Magdeburg. The total investment costs are around 30 billion euros. The first chips will be produced in Saxony-Anhalt’s state capital from 2027. In addition to jobs in the factories themselves, companies and the country are expecting thousands more jobs at suppliers and in other industries.
