From Hildburg Bruns
The former Tempelhof airport is in urgent need of general renovation. The financing of an estimated two billion euros is still completely in the stars. A comment from BZ editor Hildburg Bruns.
Is there anybody? Yes, the former airport building in Tempelhof is partially rented. A good half of the usable area. Almost everything needs to be renovated.
In view of the required billions of euros, only silly amounts flow. With the ICC, the other XXL refurbishment block, nothing is tackled at all.
Red-Green-Red sets other priorities: building schools, 5,000 social housing units a year, new vehicles for the underground and suburban trains.
The finance senator will continue to revise his investment list by August, plans will fall victim to the cutbacks. It’s going to be very bitter. A ray of light in the spring: the renovated tower on Tempelhofer Damm is opened.
