Insights into the complex trainee program in the sales area

Simplicity successfully acts in the German fashion landscape as a link between its women’s clothing brands OPUS and someday. With a team of 600 employees, the company offers a product portfolio that focuses on ready-to-wear collections, with Opus positioning itself as ‘allday casual’ and someday as ‘everyday premium’. In addition, Simplicity creates attractive starting opportunities for a career in the fashion industry: The sales trainee program enables fashion enthusiasts to enter the varied working world of sales and helps them to develop their potential in an ever-expanding environment.

Industry-specific know-how

The trainee program promises an ideal opportunity for young talents who are enthusiastic about varied sales processes in office and field sales. “Applicants should have a great interest in analytical activities and the motivation to expand on them,” says Christine Pott, head of training at Simplicity. A bachelor’s degree with a focus on sales or a comparable degree is an advantage. In addition to strong communication skills, a digital affinity and a good understanding of aspects such as visual merchandising are also helpful in order to shine in the twelve-month training.

Comprehensive insights into various specialist and interface areas are not neglected at Simplicity: Through practical assignments in the areas of logistics, goods management, but also shop experience and Salesforce, trainees gain a profound understanding of internal processes and requirements. However, you can always rely on specialist support. “As part of the assignments, the trainees always have contact persons available who can impart the necessary skills and knowledge. In keeping with the motto: Learn from the best,” says Pott. The aim is to specifically prepare trainees for future specialist and management positions by promoting their individual strengths and building a valuable network.

Promoting individual strengths

The program opens up a wide range of opportunities for trainees. “In addition to the daily tasks, there is always something new in digital sales. That’s what makes it so exciting,” says Gladys, former sales trainee and now Junior Content and Campaign Manager at Simplicity. During her training, she discovered her passion and strengths in the creative field, which were greatly encouraged thanks to the individually tailored program content. After completing the trainee program, the company currently has an impressive retention rate of 100 percent – an indication that clearly underlines Simplicity’s commitment to the development and appreciation of its employees. With the added advantage of being able to apply all year round, nothing stands in the way of an exciting career in fashion sales at Simplicity.
