At Paris Saint-Germain, the house blessing is apparently going wrong again. The reason is said to be the long-standing tense relationship between head coach Luis Enrique and superstar Kylian Mbappé. PSG insider Daniel Riolo believes that this can no longer be saved and will ultimately lead to the striker’s departure.
As Riolo reported in the “RMC” interview, there was more than just a difference of opinion between Kylian Mbappé and Luis Enrique behind the scenes at Paris Saint-Germain. Responsible for this should be the coach who uses the superstar in a position in which he doesn’t want to play: in the center of the attack.
“Mbappé doesn’t like this position. Because he’s in his last season at PSG, he won’t complain about it. He’s come to terms with it. But he obviously doesn’t like the position Enrique has in mind for him,” said the Frenchman Journalist with a look at Mbappé’s appearances on the nine.
“The decisions will lead to Mbappé’s departure”
According to Riolo, with his decision to let the superstar attack in the center rather than on the wing, Enrique lost the chance to convince the 25-year-old to stay. “His decisions will lead to Mbappé’s departure,” explained the journalist, who in the same breath also personally settled accounts with the Spanish coach.
Enrique’s behavior towards the public was “completely unacceptable,” Riolo raged, referring to the former world-class player’s often tight-lipped answers. “He is the coach, he has the freedom to do that. But he is never ready to explain his decisions and despises anyone who asks him a question,” the journalist rumbled in the direction of Enrique, who took over as coach at PSG in the summer started in 2023.
