Insane: Jong AZ takes a point against VVV-Venlo in the final second

Jong AZ gave away a point in the final phase when visiting VVV-Venlo. Just before half time, Ricuenio Kewal scored the undeserved 0-1, after which Robin Lathouwers and Rick Ketting seemed to secure the victory for the Limburgers. Loek Postma was responsible for the 2-2 in minute 95 (!).

Jong AZ had a difficult time in the first half against the Venlo team in De Koel. The first opportunity presented itself after two minutes through Elias Sierra. He shot Rick Ketting’s cross just wide. Moments later, Jan Sierksma and associates could breathe a sigh of relief after Finn Stam cleared a dangerous shot from Moreno Rutten off the line.

For a long time, the Alkmaar promises did not get further than a weak shot from Ernest Poku. It was Jong AZ that took the lead through Ricuenio Kewal after a pass from Jayden Addai: 0-1.

VVV is fighting back

Robin Lathouwers, one of the five former AZ players at VVV, scored the equalizer. He outwitted goalkeeper Rome-Jayden Owusu-Oduro from a wide distance. The goalkeeper was alert a few minutes later when Levi Smans fired a shot. The Limburgers were much better throughout the second half, so we had to wait for the goal.

It finally fell just before the end of the match. Rick Ketting was ultimately the maker of the 2-1. Painfully enough, Mexx Meerdink had killed a good opportunity just before. In injury time, Jong AZ made it 2-2 after a header from Loek Postma.

Jong AZ line-up: Owusu-Oduro; Dekkers, Goes, Dekker, Stam; Smit, Kwakman, Kewal; Addai, Meerdink, Poku
