Inland vessel sails against Rotterdam Willemsbrug | Inland

The Dutch container barge Jenga was sailing on the Nieuwe Maas towards Dordrecht when it collided with the Willemsbrug. Two containers with construction material fell from the ship. The Port of Rotterdam Authority is currently removing these from the water.

The Municipality of Rotterdam has inspected the bridge and the pipes beneath it and concluded that there is no damage that would pose a problem for traffic crossing the bridge between the north bank of the Nieuwe Maas and the Noordereiland. The ship is docked at the Feijenoordkade and is leaking latex due to the collision. Rijkswaterstaat and the Port Authority are working on this, according to a spokeswoman for the Safety Region.
