Someone was found injured on Drostenlaan in the center of Assen this evening. According to bystanders, this was preceded by an incident of violence.
The police were called just before 9:15 p.m. and drove to the location with several service vehicles. It is not known whether a suspect has been arrested. The reason for the alleged violent crime is also unclear.
The Drostenlaan has been a source of unrest for some time, as the municipality recently acknowledged after questions from RTV Drenthe. Local residents complain about unsafe situations. Groups of young people would regularly hang out there and deal drugs. According to a municipal spokesperson, the police now keep an eye on things more often.
