ALL masks fell that evening. Big finale at “The Masked Dancer” on Thursday evening! Four costumes made it to the last round and were fighting for the trophy – the monkey, the mouse, the colored pencil and the shaggy.

As a rate guest, actress and singer Yvonne Catterfeld (42) was allowed to sit in the jury round and serenaded the viewers right at the beginning, singing to Snap’s “Gonna Make You Sweat”.
The mouse is revealed
However, the mouse chose Indian sounds that evening and performed to “Mundian To Bach Ke” by Panjabi MC. Yvonne Catterfeld was sure of her tip: “I just can’t get down from the cloud anymore.”
DSDS star Alexander Klaws (38) had shot at another actress than Wolke Hegenbarth (41): “I’m still with Felicitas Woll.” Moderator Steven Gätjen (49) gave another vote for cloud: “You was in a movie called ‘Indian for Beginners.’”
However, the viewers chose the sweet mouse from the show, so that she had to take off her mask at 9:08 p.m. And as already suspected: The Berlin actress Wolke Hegenbarth was in the costume – and was visibly relieved: “It was above all warm.”
The colored pencil puts down its eraser
The next unmasking was not long in coming. The colored pencil had put a lot of effort into his dance performance for “Can’t Hold Us” by Macklemore and “Stronger” by Kanye West, so that Yvonne Catterfeld suspected an ESC legend: “I have to think of Conchita Wurst all the time. These movements and then that with the head. That reminds me of Conchita!” Steven Gätjen again guessed an actor from the series “Red Bands Club” – and met with the approval of Alexander Klaws: “The MAZ also talked about the “band of love.” I am now much more with Timur Bartels.”
And that’s exactly what was hiding under the colored pencil with the eraser on his head! The Berlin-born actor Timur Bartels (26) then confessed: “Dancing is actually not my thing. I went to the prom later than that so I don’t have to dance there.”
The shaggy is an early riser
The two finalists, Affe and Zottel, competed against each other again at the end – and now it was all about the big trophy. As always, the shaggy danced full of power, this time choosing “I want you back” by the Jackson 5. Breakfast television presenter Marlene Lufen (51) was still very popular – but in the meantime Steven Gätjen made a short trip to the “ZDF Fernsehgarten” and suddenly claimed: “It must be an energetic person who gets up very early: Andrea Kievel!”
At 10:43 p.m. the final decision was made: the monkey is the winner of “The Masked Dancer”, the shaggy has to reveal its secret first. The viewers had also typed on them – and the Berlin presenter Marlene Lufen really came out from under the shaggy mask.
She thanked her for the many compliments on her performance – and made an appeal to everyone: “It touches you very much when you hear something so beautiful about you, and I thought: you should do that much more often. Especially during this time, we should tell each other what we think is good about each other and not just what is bad….”
The Monkey Wins The Masked Dancer
The monkey wowed everyone with his dance to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” and “Despacito.” Yvonne Catterfeld puzzled wildly, vacillating between actor and singer Oli P (42) and singer Nico Santos (29): “If you’re Nico, because Nico, Despacito, Spanish… How did you feel about me on The Voice?”
Steven Gätjen meanwhile tapped on singer Tim Bendzko (36) – but then claimed: “I think you’re Oli P. Dear monkey, when you’re in love, some people get butterflies in their stomachs. Do you have airplanes?” The monkey countered quickly: “The answer, my child, the wind alone knows. hex hex.”
But the answer was there: at 11:18 p.m., the monkey had to take off his mask as the “Masked Dancer” winner. And really: The Berlin actor and singer Oliver Petszokat had performed as a monkey. His eyes widened at first: “I’m seeing the studio for the first time. I haven’t seen anything the whole time!”
But the biggest problem were the rehearsals – this is where Oli P sustained a serious injury: “I made a list of everything that broke. A muscle fiber in my right forearm tore three days ago.”
We say congratulations – and get well soon!
