A 30-year-old Romanian was injured in a stabbing in Steenbergen on Saturday night. Officers received a report that there was a fight in a catering business on Pompstraat in Steenbergen. While they were working there, they heard about the injured Romanian in Lindenburghlaan around a quarter to four in the morning.
The officers provided the Romanian with first aid. The man was then taken to a hospital in an ambulance. Due to the seriousness of the situation, a trauma helicopter also came to Steenbergen.
Research in full swing
According to the police, the investigation into what exactly happened to the Romanian is in full swing. Officers spoke to several people. A neighborhood investigation will take place and it will be known whether there are camera images that can help with the investigation. The police do not rule out that there is a connection between the fight on Pompstraat and the injured man in Lindenburghlaan.
