A 44-year-old man was injured in a stabbing in the Nelson Mandelapark in Amsterdam Southeast tonight. Two men got into an argument, one of the two was stabbed in the arm with an unknown stabbing weapon.
A little after 7 p.m., several police units went to the park. Not much later, ambulances followed and an air ambulance was called. The latter turned out not to be necessary and was called back again.
The stabbing would follow an argument between two men, a police spokesman said. A 43-year-old man was arrested and the victim was taken to hospital with his injuries.
The exact cause of the altercation is still under investigation. Police are still looking for the stabbing weapon.
