A fire broke out in a garage at a house on the Inlaagdijk in Zwaag tonight. The fire, which released a lot of smoke, was quickly extinguished. One was injured.
The first report of the fire came in around ten to ten tonight. The fire service then found the incident so serious that it was quickly decided to send several vehicles to the Inlaagdijk. According to a spokesman for the security region, it was a fire in a garage of a semi-detached house. It is not yet clear whether there are still people inside or whether there are any victims.
The spokesperson announced at a quarter to eleven that the fire was out. One person was slightly injured and was checked on the spot by the ambulance staff who rushed to the scene and did not have to be taken to hospital.
Lots of smoke
According to the spokesperson, the fire service is busy with post-extinguishing and follow-up checks in the house and also in the house next to it. The fire released a lot of smoke and heat, so the house suffered considerable damage. Nothing is yet known about how the fire started.
