Injured in collision by tram at Amstelveen stop, victim ‘dragged for meters’

A pedestrian was seriously injured in a collision with a tram on the Beneluxbaan in Amstelveen last night. The victim would have been dragged for meters.

That happened last night around 00:20 at the Zonnestein stop, a police spokesperson confirms to NH. It is not known exactly what happened.

Witnesses inform NH that the victim was trapped and was dragged a few meters by the tram before assistance could be called in.

The victim was taken to hospital after the collision. Nothing is known about his condition. An investigation is underway into how the accident could have happened.

Tram lines 5 and 25 temporarily ran a shorter route after the accident. The trams are now running according to the timetable again.
